Who We Are
The Friendship Library is a non-profit organization focused on giving every African child equal opportunity to grow through reading.We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive through reading. We are committed to breaking down barriers to education by providing access to books and creating supportive learning environments.
What We Do?
The Friendship Library achieves its objectives in two main ways.
The Friendship Library Book Clubs.
The Friendship Library APP
Read
At the Friendship Library, our journey begins with the power of reading. The Friendship Library book clubs are formed by partnerships between the Friendship Library and community libraries or schools. By fostering a love for books, we aim to build a solid foundation for their academic success and personal growth.
The Friendship Library App is a cocktail of book related activities for young people. The App is a user friendly application where books are uploaded for students to sign up and read at no cost.
Connect
Beyond just reading, we strive to create meaningful connections. Our book clubs are more than just a place to read—they are communities where members can connect with peers, mentors, and educators who share a passion for learning.
Through the Friendship Library App, we leverage technology through the use of the Friendship Library online book club, where members can sign up and have real reading friends.
Grow
Our ultimate goal is to see every child grow—not just in their reading abilities, but in their confidence, creativity, and future aspirations. Through consistent access to books and guidance from mentors, we nurture their intellectual and emotional growth. At The Friendship Library, we are committed to empowering the next generation to not only dream big but to have the tools and knowledge they need to turn those dreams into reality.
