The Friendship Library was founded on a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves an equal opportunity to grow, dream, and succeed through reading. Yet for many children, the journey toward that future is often limited not by talent or ambition, but by lack of access to books, learning spaces, and role models who show them what is possible.
The Friendship Library Professional Network (FLPN) was created to help bridge that gap. The FLPN brings together professionals from different fields who are passionate about investing in the next generation. By becoming part of this network, professionals serve as visible examples of what dedication, education, and perseverance can achieve. For many of the children we work with, meeting a professional who once walked a similar path can be life-changing. It helps them see that their dreams are not distant possibilities, but real futures within reach.
Members of the Friendship Library Professional Network support our mission in several meaningful ways. Professionals may volunteer their time during library club meetings, mentor and encourage young readers, donate books and learning materials, or provide financial support that helps sustain our programs. Each contribution, whether time, expertise, or resources, plays a vital role in shaping the experiences and aspirations of the children we serve.
Membership in the FLPN requires a minimum annual contribution of GHS 1,000, which directly supports literacy programs, access to books, and the continued growth of the Friendship Library community.
By joining the Friendship Library Professional Network, you are doing more than supporting a library. You are helping a child discover their voice, expand their imagination, and believe in their own potential.
Together, we can ensure that every child not only learns to read, but learns to believe that their future is full of possibilities.
