The Friendship Library Literacy Competition

The Friendship Library Literacy Competition is an annual celebration held every September in honour of World Literacy Day to pause, reflect, and cheer for how far every reader has come. Children aged 6 to 15 go head-to-head in book quizzes, vocabulary challenges, and a writing competition, with exciting prizes awaiting the top performers.

But the real victory is what happens in the room. Children who once struggled to read a single page step forward with confidence, answer questions with pride, and write stories that surprise even themselves. The competition is not just about who wins. It is about every child discovering what they are capable of.
